Celebrate El Cerrito Arts Month with Guarandinga

Everyone’s invited to a kickoff celebration of Arts Month sponsored by the City of El Cerrito Arts & Culture Commission. This event will highlight the tremendous creativity and commitment of local artists and arts organizations. Come enjoy these great performances in music, dance, theatre, and poetry.

Performers include:

Latin Afro Pop! – Guarandinga: Infectious original dance music with a unique Afro-Venezuelan beat!

Chinese Dance – Ah-Lan Dance Studio: Exciting dance & arts performance including Tibetan, Mongolian, Uighur, and traditional Tai-Chi dance & Han dance.

Songs from “My Fair Lady” – Contra Costa Civic Theatre Cast members sing a medley of beloved songs.

Poetry and Music – El Cerrito’s new Poet Laureate, Maw Shein Win, reads from her new chapbook, accompanied by musicians Dan Plonsey and Thomas Scandura

"The Tell-Tale Heart" - George McRae: Reading of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic story.

Origami Workshop: Artist Nga Trinh will teach how to fold a Samuari Hat, a Glider, a Fan, and more (for all ages)!
