Black Generations Music Festival

It was great to again have the opportunity to work with Joe Warner and Faye Carol on the FANTASTIC Black Generations Festival they produced with the support of the City of Oakland. All the artists were amazing, but it was especially nice to be able to see and film my dear friend Valerie Trout and listen to that glorious voice. I have so missed hearing her sing in person.

Another artist that really stood out to me was @martinluthermccoy. I’d heard his name on the scene over the years, but this was my first time hearing some of his music. Great set with @kevchoice @damedrummer and @bassmancaintstop. We got a chance to chat a bit after the show and am looking forward to hearing more.

And of course, the anchor of the Oakland Black Generations festival was an absolutely dynamic performance by the @thedynamicmiss. What an artist, what a musician, what a singer and what a treasure to the @oakland Community. She is supported by musical director @pianojoewarner, bassist Billy Edwards and drummer Aaron Green.
